BAGAN
Bagan, known as the city of four million pagodas, is the richest archaeological site in Asia. This enchanting city in situated on the eastern bank of Ayeyarwady River about 193 km south of Mandalay . The ruins of the city of Bagan cover an area of 42 sq km containing over 5000 edifices. The majority of these well preserved pagodas and temples offer a rich architectural heritage form of the 11th to 13th Centuries. Bagan survives over long years to tell Myanmar history, especially the first period of Myanmar's greatness.
