Day Trips From Yangon

DTY 01

Yangon - Thanlyin (Syriam) - Yangon

After Breakfast, excursion to Thanlyin (Syriam) was an important trading center in the 7th century under the Partuguese Colonial Administration so that old buildings can be seen. Visit Kyauk Tan Ye Le Paya " Mid - Stream - Pagoda " set on a tiny island in the river and the riverside market. On the way back to Yangon, visit Kyaik Kauk Pagoda & enjoy the overview. Return to Yangon.

DTY 02

Yangon - Bago - Yangon

Excursion visit to Bago, the ancient capatial of Mon Dynasty (1287-1539) by car about 90 mins. Drive, 80 km away from Yangon. The famous sites are Shwemawsaw Pagoda - one of most venerated pagoda in Myanmar, Shwethalyaung - a colossal life like Reclining Buddha Image, Maha Zedi Pagoda & Bago market. Then visit to Kambawzathadi Palace of King Bayinnaung, cheroot industry & hand weaving in Mon Village. On the way drive back to Yangon you can observe Htauk Kyant World War Two Cemetery. Arrive hotel in Yangon.

DTY 03

Yangon - Twante - Yangon

After Breakfast, take a boat / ferry from Pansoedan Jetty to Dalah ( on the opposite bank of the Yangon River ) to travel Twante by hiring jeep or by taking a ferry along the Yangon River and Twante canal which is the famous canal, which was dug during the colonial era as a short cut across the Ayeyarwaddy Delta. About 50 km ( 30 miles ) west of Yangon can help pressure the art form of Myanmar's ceramic and also pottery & weaving. Return to Yangon.

OTY 01

Yangon - Pyay - Yangon

Day 1 Yangon - Pyay
Proceed to Pyay (Prome), situated on the eastern bank of the Irrawaddy river. A few kilometer north - east of the town is Thaye Khittaya (Sir Ksetra ), on archaeological site of the ancient Pyu capital ( 5-9 ) century ). Arrive Pyay & check in hotel. In the evening visit shwe sandaw Pagoda for seeing beauty over town & Irrawaddy River. Dinner. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 Pyay - Akauk Taung - Pyay - Yangon
After breakfast, first visit to Pyay Myo Ma Zay to observe the life of Myanmar people. Then drive to Htonebo village (58 km). Then take a 15 mins cruise to Akauk Taung . Just taking a big climb & trek to see Buddha image were carved on the mountains slides. This is a chance to see the enchanting Burmese simple ways of village life lies which amidst the surrounding rice fields with yoke water buffaloes. Come back to Pyay & return to Yangon.

Morning drive and visit to Mingun village by boat. Proceed to Mingun village, the site of the world's largest bronze ringing bell, 3.7 meters high and 90 tons in weight. Also visit to the huge but unfinished Mingun Paya built to be the world's largest Pagoda and beautiful Shinphyume Paya. Return to Mandalay.

Mandalay - Pyin Oo Lwin – Mandalay

Morning, visit to Pyin Oo Lwin ( Maymyo ) which is 90 mins. uphill drive from Mnadalay. Highlights sites are water fall, Peik Chin Myaung Cave, Chinese Jog House, Maymyo Zay and 2000 acre Botonical Garden known as Kandawgyi Garden. Drive back to Mandalay.

Mandalay - Hispaw - Mandalay

Day 1 Mandalay - Hispaw - Mandalay
Morning drive to Hispaw, an excursion trip along the Dokehtawaddy River by boat to see the country side. On the way trek about one hour to old monastery ( over 100 years ) and can observe a variety plantations beside walking lane. The last place to enjoy sunset is Thain Taung Paya. You can enjoy the scenic beauty of town & river from there. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 2 Hispaw - Mandalay
After breakfast, visit Sunlone village to see old man. Then, visit to Bamboo Buddha Image Pop Corn Factory & Hsipaw Haw ( Shan King's Residence ). The Hsipaw Shan King was included in the most powerful five Shan Kings since the days of King Mindon and King Hsipaw of the last Myanmar Dynasty - Kone Baung. You can study the history of Shan Sawbwas at the Palace Library. and Hispaw Haw ( Shan King's Residence ). Also observe Shan shoulder bag factory and sandal slipper factory ( recycled from old tyres ). In the evening, return to Mandalay.

Mandalay – Monywa - Mandalay

Day 1 Mandalay - Monywa
Drive to Monywa ( 150km - 4 hrs) with visit to charming rural village specialized in the manufacture of lacquer ware and Shweguni Pagoda. Also visit Ledi Kyaung Teik Monastery with 806 stone slab on with Buddhist scriptures. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 2 Monywa - Mandalay
Breakfast. Across the Chindwin River by freey boat to visit Po Win Taung where there are over 400000 carved ( antique stone sculptures ) ancient Buddha Images 15th century, 14 mile far from Nyaung Pin Gyi Jetty ( 45 mins drive ) to see some very fine mural painting. About leisure for 2 hrs. there and come back Monywa. After check out hotel drive to Than Bode Day Pagoda with over 500000 Buddha Images and also visit thousand Bo trees Pagoda, the 222 ft, high huge reclining Buddha Image and standing Buddha on the hill top. Drive back to Mandalay.

An excursion trip will start after early breakfast. The car will take you from Bagan to Chauk - Sale - Kyauk Pa Daung - Popa - Bagan. At Sale, you can see the famous monastery ( Yokeson Kyaung ) Image made of Bamboo strips and local market. Then visit to Popa a forest Land mark. Drive back to Bagan.

Inle - Taunggyi - Kakku - Taunggyi

After breakfast, excursion visit to Taunggyi and Kakku. Taunggyi is over 1440 meter above sea level is the capital of Shan State ( famous for the fire balloon festival held annually at the full moon day of Tazaungmone / November ). Visit gem market in Taunggyi. Then proceed to Kakku, 46 km ( one and half hours drive ) south of Taunggyi, situated in Pa O region. Lunch at Laing Kun Restautant. Visit around Kakku and drive back to Taunggyi. Transfer to Heho airport.
