Formerly known as the “Strand Hotel Sandaway”, it was first established by the Steel Brothers Company on March 15th 1961. It was transferred to the Ministry of Trade in 1965 under the same name of the Ngapali beach Hotel and again transferred to a private company, “Lone ma Lay group” under the same name on November 1st 1999.
Where is it ?
The Amata Spa & Resort is located near the delightful Mya Pyin village at Ngapali Beach. The nearest airport is at Thandwe, an enjoyable 15 minute drive from the resort. Thandwe Airport is a convenient 45 minute direct flight from Yangon.

Cabana Cottage : Each two-storey beach bungalow is equipped with a unique, spacious bedroom in the upstairs area, and a relaxing comfortable living room and fully equipped bathroom on the ground level. The bungalows are surrounded by lush tropical landscaped gardens with Asian-style soak tubs and ‘au naturel’ outdoor showering area screened by foliage.

Ngapali Beach is one of the oldest and most beautiful beach resorts in Myanmar. With its white sands, clear and warm seas and swaying palms; it is a wonderful place to relax.
Linn Thar oo Lodge is one of the best positioned hotels on this beach. Not only is it familly owned offering a friendly, helpful and relaxed service, it is also REASONABLY PRICED for this area.
Linn Thar Oo’s Sea View Restaurant has a wide range of Burmese, Chinese,
European and seafood cuisine. There is also a large selection of restaurants within walking distance. These are well worth a try, but often the food is of a better quality and cheaper in the hotel.
Ngapali beach is about 250 miles N/W of Yangon, and is very well situated to be included in any tour of Myanmar. Thandwe airport, 3 miles away, has daily flights from Yangon, also flights to Bagan, Heho and Sittway.
