Yangon - Kyaing Tong - Yangon ( 6 Day/ 5 Night )


Day 01 - Arrival Yangon

Arrive Yangon by International flight in the morning. Transfer to hotel. Start to visit the heart of city centered Sule Pagoda, Maha Bandoola Park with Independence monument.  Then photo stop at Karaweik hall - a royal floating barge with tranquil Kandawgyi Lake & Chaukhutgyi Recling Buddha. An extended visit to Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world's most spectacular religious monuments, will conclude the tour of this picturesque garden city. The golden dome of Shwedagon Pagoda rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold. Dinner. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 - Yangon - Kyaing Tong

Arrive Kyaing Tong & check in hotel. Visit Thittapin Taung Hill -- the 245 years old tree planted by King Alaung Paya of Third Myanmar Empire - for panoramic views over Kyaing Tong. Proceed to Standing Buddha, Mahamyatmuni Pagoda, the old palace of Saw Bwa (Shan Chief), the tomb of Kyaing Tong Saw Bwa. famous Noung Tong Lake and then traditional Shan Style lacquer ware work shop. Dinner. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03 - Kyaing Tong

After breakfast visit Pin Tauk area --- the villages of Akha and Enn tribes. Some are baptized, some tribes still animists. The Enn are an ethnic group which tourists have found particularly interesting labeling them the " Black Teeth " . Akha and Lahu villages, see their daily activities, especially their traditional way of weaving and enjoy the magnificent view of the landscape as well. The trek walk is not difficult and can be done slowly. They live on the higher slopes. They have distinctively different costumes and beliefs from the other tribes. Take lunch at Pin Tauk water-fall. Late afternoon come back to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04 - Kyaing Tong

After breakfast drive approximately 25 minute to Palaung tribe village ( Wan Pauk ). The Palaung tribe are known locally as " Sliver " Palaungs. A branch of the same tribe, locally called " Gold " Palaung, live in Northern Shan States. Three hours hiking from there is white Lahu villages, kunpe-1 and kunpe-2, White Lahu & Black Lahu are the same tribes. Trekking through forests, Valleys and gorges is very fascinating. Return to Kyaing Tong. Dinner. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05 - Kyaing Tong - Yangon

After breakfast, morning visit to colorful Kyaing Tong Central Market & Water Buffalo Market where buyers' and sellers stand around seemingly doing nothing but sales are transacted quietly. Because water buffalos are not found in many countries, the twice weekly market excites considerable interest. And then drive to " Akha village " ( appr.35 minutes ) 9km north-east of Kyaing Tong. The costume of the ladies of this tribe is simple a wide sleeved short black jacket over a sarong of horizontal red stripes on black. Then come back to hotel. In the afternoon transfer to Kyaing Tong airport for  Yangon . Transfer to hotel. Dinner. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06 - Yangon Departure

Breakfast. Transfer to Yangon International Airport for departure flight.
