Mergui Archipelago

Mergui Archipelago is one of the world's hidden Archipelago with more than 800 island, covering about 14,000 sq - miles ( 36,000 sq km ). Most of area remains unexplored and nobody steps on some islands. Incredibly, varieties of flora and fauna can be found on the islands and surrounding them. Among those islands are various mangroves, wild life, caves, lagoons, fresh water falls and river in the forest. This region is perfectly safe for shelter even during the strongest of Monsoon season weather. There are many magnificent locations for camping, sea kayaking and sport fishing and world famous dive sites, such as the Burma Banks, Roe banks, Western Banks, Western Rocky, South Twins, North Twins, Shark's Caves etc.

Salone People

" Salones " are called by Myanmar people & " Mokens " by Thais & Malays are living on boats during dry season & remain on the islands during rainy seasons. They are very skillful in swimming, diving & fishing since childhood trained by parents from generation to generation.
